Safety Tips:
- Check the packaging carefully to ensure you know which concentration you have. Do not confuse the Infant drops with the Children’s liquid.
- Do not give acetaminophen to an infant under 3 months old without a doctor’s approval.
- Always use the measuring device that comes with the medicine, or ask your pharmacist for an oral syringe.
- The proper dose is based on weight, not age. To weigh a very young child, weigh yourself holding the child, then weigh yourself. Subtract your weight from the combined weight.
- Do not exceed five doses in 24 hours.
* Acetaminophen is the drug name. Some brand names are Tylenol, Triaminic, PediaCare and Little Fevers. Be careful of products that are combination medicines or offer multiple symptom relief, they may contain acetaminophen as well.
